Nakhon Ratchasima, commonly known as Korat (short version of the full name) is located on the Khorat Plateau in the western part of north-east Thailand and is the capital of the Nakhon Ratchasima District and of the province Nakhon Ratchasima. The names of the neighboring provinces of Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) are Chaiyaphum to the north, Sa Kaeo to the south-east, Saraburi to the west, Prachin Buri to the south and Khon Kaen to the north-east.
