อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ ภูพระบาท

อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ ภูพระบาท เป็นภูเขาหินทรายขนากเล็กอยู่ในแนวเทือกเขาภูพาน แหตุผลที่เรียกเขาลูกนี้ว่า
ภูพระบาท เนื่องจากบนยอดเขาเป็นที่ประดิษฐานของรอยพระบาทบัวบก ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่ชาวบ้านเคารพนับถือ  อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ ภูพระบาท พบหลักฐานว่าเป็นแหล่งโบราณคดีที่มีมนุษย์อาศัยอยู่ ตั้งแต่ยุคก่อนประวัติศาสตร์ และอยู่อาศัยเรื่อยมาจนถึงสมัยล้านช้าง และ อยุธยาจะเห็นได้จากการเขียน ภาพฝ่ามือ ภาพคน ภาพสัตว์ และภาพรูปทรงเรขาคณิตด้วยสีแดง บางภาพยังสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงการดำรงชีวิตของคนและสัตว์ในสมัยนั้น
ภูพระบาท  เป็นภูเขาที่มีหินรูปร่างประหลาดแปลกตา ซึ่งเกิดจากขบวนการทางธรรมชาติ แต่มนุษย์หลายสมัยได้เข้ามาให้ความหมายกับภูเขาแห่งนี้ และทิ้งร่องรอยวัฒนธรรมไว้จนถึงปัจจุบัน
การชมหินรูปร่างประหลาด ในภูพระบาทจะมีเจ้าหน้าที่อุทยานมาค่อยให้คำแนะนำร่วมทั้งเล่านิทาน เรื่องราวของท้าวบารส และนางอุสา ทำให้เกิดจินตนาการต่างๆและสนุกในการชม เพราะ มีการตั้งชื้อหินเหล่านั้น ให้สอดคล้องกับเรื่องราวในนิทาน

Phu Phrabat Historical Park

Phu Phrabat is a historical park with an area of about 5 km2. The historical park is located in the he western zone of the Phu Phan mountains in Ban Phue District, Udon Thani Province, northeastern Thailand. There are a lot of natural big rock formations all around in the park, many religious shrines and prehistoric rock paintings. From Udon Thani it is about 90 kilometres (Road 22 and Road 2021) and from Nong Khai (Road 2020 and 2011) it is about 50 kilometres to Phu Phrabat, the park is located in the west of this two cities. Phu Phraba is part of the Phu Phra Bat Buabok Forest park which covers an area of 13 km2.
