Roundtrips from Mae Hong Son

Pha Sua Waterfall and Mae Aw

Take the road to Pai, around 17 km you turn left and follow the sign to Pha Sua Waterfall ...

You cross a beautiful valley with small villages and go up on the mountain, after 12 km you will arrive the resting area with a parking lot. Follow the foot path down to this impressing waterfall.

From now on the road goes up quite steam, passing a water reservoir. There will be a sigh to the Pang Tong Palace, but sorry, you are not allows to visit. Turn right and pass some hilltribe villages until you come to a lake and Mae Aw.

This village was founded by the Kuomintang, with allowances of the Thai government to protect the border. Till now they life quite independent, you can buy chinese tea and vegetables, also two small restaurants offer food and drinks.
