CNX-901 THE VALLEY OF MAE WANG

This is a soft adventure trip with some activities to the wilderness of the Mae Wang Valley, located approx. 50 km to the southwest. You will be picked up from the hotel in Chiang Mai at time 08.30. First drive for one hour to the Mae Wang valley. Then ride on an elephant through the jungle for about one hour. Afterwards take a short walk for a visit of a Hmong- and Karen hill tribe vil- lage. Later you got the opportunity for a cool shower at a small waterfall. After the lunch break enjoy a trip on a bamboo raft down the river, where it can get a bit wet. Finally transfer back to Chiang Mai and you will arrive there in the late afternoon. Available as a private tour or joining the group.

CNX-902 BICYCLE TRIP

An easy leisure cycling trip and ideal for the majority people with an average level of fitness. In the morning at approx. time 08.30 you will be picked up from the hotel. Start cycling in the valley of the the Ping River south of the city. See a Chinese temple, fruit orchards, farmland and passing rural Thai villages. Take another stop at Ban Tawai, a village which is famous for its woodcarving arti- sans. Lunch on route at a local restaurant. On your way back to the city have a look to the temple and ruins of Wiang Khum Kam, the former Mon city. Arrive at your hotel by late afternoon. Total cycling is approx. 45 km (the route can be shortened according to your wishes). Private tour only.

CNX-903 KAYAKING & CYCLING

A day trip for the more active one's, which includes paddling and cycling. In the morning pick up from your hotel. Transfer by car for approx. one hour to the north. Start your cycling tour along back roads through orchards and paddy fields (approx. 15 km). Then change mode of transport and switch to the kayak. Paddle across the Mae Ngat Reservoir, which is also part of Sri Lanna National Park. Lunch and leisure at a floating restaurant. Paddle back to the shore base. From here transfer back to Chiang Mai. Arrive at your hotel in Chiang Mai late afternoon. Available as a private tour or joining a small group.

CNX-904 CHIANG DAO DISCOVERY

This guided tour will bring you to the Chiang Dao area, located approx. 70 km to the north from downtown Chiang Mai. Beside some of the usual sights it gives you the chance to see rural Thai country life as well, but also a visit to some hill tribe villages. In the morning at time 08.30 pick up from the hotel in Chiang Mai. Drive for about one hour to an elephant camp. Watch these giants take their morning bath and demonstration of hauling logs etc. An optional elephant ride, as well as trip on a bamboo raft can be arranged. Continue on some back roads to the east of Chiang Dao where you visit some villages of various hill tribes, such as the Palong, Lisu and Akha. Lunch on route. Then go on and explore the mystic Chiang Dao cave and temple. On the way back to Chiang Mai take stop at a local countryside market and an orchid farm. You will be back at your hotel in Chiang Mai by late afternoon. Private tour only.

CNX-905 THAI COOKERY SCHOOL

You won't be a chief cook after that day, but for sure you will be able to cook some of the well known Thai dishes. In the morning you will be picked up from the hotel. First tour the local market, where you learn more about Thai vege- tables, herbs and spices. Return to the family style cookery school, located in the old part of the city and start to cook your lunch, which includes some of the most popular Thai dishes, as well as making curry paste. The challenge is how to obtain the necessary ingredients to cook a real Thai dish. Finally also learn how to prepare some well known dessert. You will be back at your hotel in the middle of the afternoon. OPTION: On request there is a half day cookery course avalable as well. Tour available to join the group only.

CNX-906 DOI INTHANON

A one day tour to Doi Inthanon National Park, which is also the highest peak (2565 m) of Thailand. In the morning pick up from the hotel. During this full day tour You will see picturesque waterfalls, royal pagodas, Hmong- and Karen hill tribe villages, as well as a royal farming project, which has the object to support the poor farmers and hill tribe people in this area. Take a short walk through dense forest near the peak. Lunch on route at a local restaurant. Drive back to Chiang Mai and arrive there by late afternoon. On your return to Chiang Mai a side trip (private tour only) to beautiful Haripunchai temple in Lamphun or to the woodcarving village of Baan Tawai can be arranged. CNX-907 GOLDEN TRIANGLE FLASH

This is a full day tour for people with less time and who don't mind to sit in a car for many hours, as more than 500 km are travelled during this trip. Early in the morning (approx. time 07.00) pick up from the hotel. Travel up north to Chiang Rai and further on via Chiang Saen to the famous Golden Triangle at the Me- kong River, where the countries of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (Burma) do meet. Here an optional short boat trip can be arranged. Drive on to Mae Sai, the northernmost- and market town at the Burmese border. After lunch travel through the mountains along hill tribe villages until Ban Thaton, where you have another break at a riverside restaurant on the banks of the Kok River. Finally return back to Chiang Mai and arrive at your hotel early evening. Available as a private tour or joining the group.

CNX-908 LAMPANG DISCOVERY

This one day tour will show you some highlights of Lampang province, approx. 90 km south of Chiang Mai. In the morning pick up from the hotel and drive first to the Elephant Conservation Center and Elephant Hospital in Hang Chat. Go on to the buzzling market of Tung Kwiang. Finally arrive in Lampang where you visit the ancient temple Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, as well as the Burmese temple Wat Sri Chum. On route back to Chiang Mai take a short side trip to Lamphun province, where you will see beautiful Haripunchai temple. If time allows, then some sightseeing in the northern capital can be added. OPTION: Instead driving back on the main road via Lamphun there is the opportunity to take the scenic route on small and winding roads via Jaeson National Park and Mae Kampong. On this route you will see some dense mountain jungle and small remote villages. Of course it is more driving and also takes more time with the later option. Private tour only.

CNX-909 CHIANG MAI CITY

This program will show you all major highlights of this northern capital. In the morning (approx. time 09.00) pick up from the hotel. The sightseeing starts with the landmark of the city, which is Doi Suthep mountain temple with its great views to the city. Go on for a tour in the old part of the city and see some of the ancient temples, such as Wat Chedi Luang with the city pillar or Wat Chiang Man. Then have a quick look at a bustling local market. Finally you have the opportunity to visit some of the local handicraft factories in Bosang, such as woodcarving, silver making, lacquer ware, umbrella painting etc. (just the ones in which you are interested). CNX-910 NORTHERN SAFARI

An interesting and enjoyable one day program. In the morning (approx. time 08.30) pick up from the hotel. Heading north to an elephant camp. Watch these giants take their daily bath. After the elephant show take a one hour ride through the wildernes. See a small Lisu hill tribe village and take a short ride on an ox cart. After lunch enjoy a ride downriver on a bamboo raft. CNX-911 DOI PUI MINI TREK

A one day soft trekking tour on Doi Suthep/Doi Pui mountain area, which also includes a visit to the famous Suthep temple. In the morning at approx. time 08.30 you will be picked up from the hotel. Pass through the northern capital and then up towards to Doi Suthep. Take a brief stop at Monthatarn waterfall. Start trekking for just less than one hour to another small waterfall with opportunity to take a bath. Then go on trekking for approx. 2 hours hrough the forest to a white Hmomg hill tribe village. Take a stroll in the village and have lunch. In the afternoon drive up to the summit of Doi Pui, then pass Phuping Palace before arriving at scenic Suthep mountain temple. CNX-912 FLIGHT OF THE GIBBON

This is definitely an unique soft adventure one day trip, where you ride up in the rainforest using a secure body harness suspended from a steel cable strung within the treetop canopy. Early in the morning you will be picked up from the hotel. Drive for just less than an hour to the rain forest area of Mae Kampong. On arrival you will get more information about your soft adventure trip. Then you will spend approx. 3 hours rigged securely, high up in the rainforst canopy, flying from treehouse to treehouse on ziplines. The total length is about 2 km and during that time you are led by experienced guides, who show you the easy way to be connected to safety lines. After lunch take a short trek to a nearby waterfall in the forest. Afterwards you have time for a stroll through the picturesque village of Mae Kampong.
