DAY 1 PAKSE
Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Time at leisure and opportunity to explore the town on your own.
DAY 2 PAKSE - TAD LO
In the morning pick up from the hotel. Take a short tour through the southern city of Pakse. Then continue to the Bolowen Plateau. On route stop at the Tad Fane waterfall and villages of ethnic minorities, such as the Katou and Kaluem. Go on to visit a coffee- and tea plantation. Arrive Tad Lo, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and a nice waterfall. Opportunity for a short walk to the nearby minority village of the Nge. Overnight in Tad Lo.
DAY 3 TAD LO - KHONG ISLAND
Descent back to the valley until you reach the Mekong River. Enjoy a scenic boat trip. In Champasak visit the Angkor temple of Vat Pou. This ancient stone palace is an architectural marvel. Later continue on the road to Hat Sai Khone. Here you will cross the mighty Mekong to Khong Island, where you spend the night.
DAY 4 KHONG ISLAND - PAKSE
Continue by boat in southern direction to the 4000 river islands. In Don Kone switch to the car. On route you can see remains of the French's occupation, such as old locomotive and railway line. Enjoy a short walk through tropical forest until you reach the Liphi waterfall. Early afternoon you will arrive at the huge and spectacular Khone Phapheng falls, where the Mekong takes a deep just before the Cambodian border. Finally heading back for Pakse. Arrive there early evening. Overnight.
DAY 5 PAKSE
Transfer to the airport and contnue your journey.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:
Visa for Laos is available at the Thai-Laotian border crossing of Chong Mek (Ubon Ratchathani), but also on arrival at the airport in Pakse. And of course at some other border crossings and airports in Laos as well. This against a fee of US$ 30.- (you should bring a passport photo with you).
Additional nights before and/or after the tour in Pakse, but also in Vientiane or Ubon Ratchathani can be booked with us.
As well as transfers to/from Pakse from/to Ubon Ratchathani/Chong Mek, but also flights from/to Vientiane or Bangkok.
