DAY 1 CHIANG MAI
On arrival transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. Opportunity to explore the northern capital by yourself. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
DAY 2 CHIANG MAI - LUANG PRABANG
In the morning there is some time left for sightseeing or shopping in Chiang Mai (optional). Early afternoon transfer to the airport. Short flight to the former royal Laotian town of Luang Prabang. You are welcomed by our Laotian partner agency. Transfer to the hotel. Time to explore the colorful town on the banks of the Mekong. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
DAY 3 LUANG PRABANG
After breakfast enjoy a scenic boat trip to Pak Ou, where the Ou River flows in to the Mekong. Have alook to the holy Thum Ting caves with it's many Buddha images. Then continue on the road to the picturesque Kuangsi waterfall. On route take a brief stop at a Hmong hill tribe village. Return and tour the former royal town. Visit the former King's palace, which is now the National Museum. Go on to see some of the many ancient temples in the twon (an UNESCO world heritage site since 1995). Overnight in Luang Prabang.
DAY 4 LUANG PRABANG - VANGVIENG
In the morning start for a tour through some impressive mountain wilderness to Vangvieng. On route you will see many remote hill tribe villages (most of them are Hmong) and also stop at some of them. In the afternoon arrive in Vang- vieng, the small town on the banks of the Song River with its picturesque lime- stone cliffs to the west. Overnight in Vangvieng.
DAY 5 VANGVIENG - VIENTIANE
Enjoy the nice surroundings and observe the daily life along the river. Time to take a short stroll in the small village incl. a visit to the local market. Later drive to Vientiane. After lunch take a sightseeing tour in the Laotian capital, which includes all major sights, such as the That Luang stupa, Pratu Xai, as well as the central market, where you might find your souvenir from Laos. Overnight in Vientiane.
DAY 6 VIENTIANE
Transfer to the airport or the Lao/Thai border (Friendship Bridge near Nong Khai), but also transfer all the way to Udon Thani (Thailand) is possible, depends on your further schedule.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:
Visa for Laos available on arrival in Luang Prabang against a fee of US$ 30.- (You should bring a passport photo with you).
This tour can also be done v. v., start in Vientiane and finish in Chiang Mai. As well it is possible to book extra nights in Luang Prabang, as well as in Vientiane. Specially in Luang Prabang you got the opportunity to explore the nice town by yourself, too.
On day 4 instead driving to Vangvieng it is also possible to a full day tour to the Plain of Jars incl. overnight and then take a flight to Vientiane on the next day.
