DAY 1 CHIANG MAI - MAE HONG SORN
Early morning pick up from the hotel, airport or railway station and leave Chiang Mai. Full day tour on some steep and winding roads through the mountain wilderness. Do various stops on the way, such as at an orchid farm and a local countryside market, but also at the giant Thum Lot cave near Soppong. On route you will see Lisu- and Lahu hill tribe villages as well. Finally arrive at the resort in Mae Hong Sorn late afternoon. Overnight.
DAY 2 MAE HONG SORN
Enjoy a scenic boat- or raft trip (it's your choice) on the Pai River. Afterwards drive to the Burmese border area and visit one of the Paduang "longneck" villages. Some women of this tribe elongate their necks by adding brass neck rings annually from an early age. An optional elephant ride through the jungle can be arranged. Go on and visit the small town of Mae Hong Sorn with its colourful Shan temples such as Wat Doi Kong Moo on hill top with great views and Wat Jong Klang at the picturesque city lake. Overnight in Mae Hong Sorn.
DAY 3 MAE HONG SORN - CHIANG MAI
There is a bit time left for more sightseeing, for example at some hot springs with opportunity to take a bath. Or just take a stroll to explore the surroundings of the resort. After lunch transfer to the airport and short flight back to Chiang Mai. Transfer to the hotel or continue your journey, depends on your further schedule.
