DAY 1 PAI

Early afternoon pick up from the hotel in Pai and drive to the main waterfall. It is also the water supply and the fruit garden of the town. Opportunity to take a bath. On route pass Kuomingtang, Lisu and Lahu villages. Then cross to the other side of the valley, pass a Shan village and reach a hill side temple which offers great views of the Pai Valley. Go on to the hot spring area. In the lower part of the stream, as the water gets cooler, possibility to go for a dip. At a small elephant camp an optional ride on one of these giants can be arranged. On the way back to Pai take a brief stop at a Karen community handicraft center, as well as at Pai Canyon.

DAY 2 PAI

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and drive approx. 20 minutes to a Lisu village where you start walking along the fields until to find the shadow of a bamboo forest. You will reach the first Lahu hill tribe village and take a basket lunch in this area. Continue walking for approx. one more hour to another Lahu village and stop by at the beautiful three stage waterfall, where you can swim and relax. The back up car will pick you up from there and you will be back in Pai by late afternoon.

DAY 3 PAI - MAE HONG SORN - PAI

After breakfast pick up from your hotel. First drive one hour on a beautiful mountain road to reach the first stop and meet with the Lisu hill tribe people. Then drive on a scenic crest trail to see a Black Lahu village and a cave nearby the Burmese border. Getting close to Mae Hong Son, have a look to the mysterious Fish Cave. Further up go on to discover Phasua waterfall. Reach Mae Hong Son and have lunch. Time to taste the local cuisine and relax by the lake, in front of the romantic Shan temple. The first excursion in the afternoon will take you to a Paduang (longneck) village, occasion for an interesting visit and a short talk about the refugees' situation along this border. Back to Mae Hong Son, walk through the provincial market to detail the local food products and handicrafts. Then drive to the temple on the hill to get a great view over the Shan city. Transfer back to Pai and arrive there by early evening. End of the tour.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:

Instead transfer back to Pai on the 3rd day it is also possible to book the short flight (approx. time 17.00) with Thai Airways from Mae Hong Sorn to Chiang Mai. If you wish to do so, then please let us know at the time of booking.
During your stay in Pai an upgrade to one of the fine upper middle class resortd is possible, too.
Accommodation in Chiang Mai and/or Pai before and/or after this package can be booked with us as well.

HOW TO GET TO PAI:

From/to Chiang Mai by private car/mini bus or by joint mini buses and it takes approx. 3 hours. There are also two daily flights available by SGA Airlines/Nok Air. Of course we can book all these transfers on your request.
