Liebe Thailand-Freunde! Für die ZDF-Sendung "Risiko", die Montags bis Donnerstags um 16.05 Uhr läuft, suche ich lustige, aufgeschlossene Leute, die sich nicht beruflich mit dem Thema "Thailand" auseinandersetzen und Lust haben in der Sendung als Kandidat mitzumachen. Im Stil von "Der große Preis" werden 7 Wissensfragen zu diesem Thema gestellt (die Literaturangaben werden in Absprache mit dem Kandidaten abgestimmt). Wenn der Kandidat alle Fragen richtig beantwortet hat, hat er die Möglichkeit, sich in der nächsten Sendung wieder 7 Fragen stellen zu lassen. Der Gewinn erhöht sich in jeder Runde und reicht bis zu 28.000 DM. Die Anzahl der Runden, die der Gast spielen möchte, bestimmt er selbst. Dem Kandidaten wird natürlich auch die Möglichkeit gegeben, sich persönlich vorzustellen und über sein Hobby zu erzählen. Die Interessenten sollten für einen Castingtermin am Ende Januar 1999 in Köln, Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart oder München Zeit haben. Dieses Casting dauert ca. 1 Stunde. Die Sendungen werden voraussichtlich in der Zeit vom 01.-19. Februar 1999 oder auch vom 06.04.-16.04.99 in Köln aufgezeichnet, wo der Gast ca. drei Tage einplanen sollte. Die anfallenden Kosten werden ab Aufzeichnungsbeginn für ihn und eine Begleitperson vom Sender übernommen. I am writing to tell you that I hate to see you call my people "MEO" Remember, We do have our own name for you to call. Whosoever that don't know my people like "HMONG". They need to learn more and check out by themsleve. If I see you or hear you call, the Thai called my people MEO, I want you to be awared of this. It could be happened at anytimes. Why you wanted to insult people? Is that really satisfy yourself if others are hurt? I don't think so, because we all are human instead of inhuman. By the way, it's 1998, it not the 60/70, so, we're not longing for people to call us "MEO" any more!. Do you understand? Why don't you just call us, HMONG? If you have any questions? I want to move to Thailand for some time in the near future (to Bangkok or somewhere at the seaside). For my work (I am a translator), I need a small apartment where I can install a PC + Internet connection. I understand that it is relatively difficult to have a phone line set up without waiting for months unless you pay money "under the table" to the competent officials. What I am looking for is an apartment in the 7000-12000 Baht/month range, if possible. I would really appreciate it if anyone who is or has been living in Thailand (Bangkok) in a similar situation sent me a mail so that I could ask him/her a few detailed questions about living and working in Thailand. About your taxi drivers: Dear Sir, I was in Bangkok attend asain games as news reportor, but I was shocked to see that most of the taxi drivers although with a smiling face, the way they cheating the visitors was very stupid, by making a big round to my hotel instead of taking the nearest way hoping they can earn more. I have tested a few drivers, seems none of them I had contacted are reliable enough. Hope you can do something to improve. Best Regards, Brian Liu
