In 1973 I was stationed in Namphong, Thailand at the Rosegarden. At the time this was a US Marine air base. I was there until it closed. I would like to here from anyone who could tell what has become of the base and the surrounding villages. I am interested in obtaining photos and maps of the area. Please contact me at my email. And why nothing about Pattaya? Everybody seems to forget that Pattaya is the best place near the sea where to stay 2-3 days before catching a plane back home... it is only 140 km from Bangkok and fare away from the bad reputation the international press have gave us,,,, Also it is cheap, friendly and full of activity,,, (Before they said Pattaya was the paradise on earth... and when every body get bored with paradise... they jjust took the opposite stand... Hi Coaldust1: 10/06/97 Read your insert on Thailand Online. Too bad we didn't connect earlier. I am married with two children and I am a full time student attending Heald College at night. In a class project, I am supposed to obtain a PenPal from the country I was assigned to - unfortunately I failed to get a PenPal :( . Now, with hope, may I forward some questions to you in regards to your native homeland - Thailand? My main concern is "How do Thais conduct proper business operations? or What is the proper business etiqette?" My last concern is - do you have a favorite Thai meal & drink? And if you don't mind, would you like to share the receipe with me. The reason I'm asking is because as a final project each student is supposed to make and present a dish from the country assigned.
