Karen Nature Lodge, Thung Phrao

The guesthouse is situated in a valley of a beautiful hill-area, surrounded by ricefields. Stay in a friendly karen-hilltribe village, nearby akha- and lahu-tribes, in a peaceful mountainous area. We offer rustic and comfortable bungalows with hot shower at reasonable rates.

Rent a mountain-bike, tours by private car or motor-bike, visit waterfalls and caves, nice walking-tours, relax in our exotic garden.

In Wawi-valley are many different hilltribes living: Karen, Lahu, Akha, Yao, Lisu and also Burmese and Yunan Chinese.

Wawi is a chinese moslem village, with the largest growing area for tea in Thailand.

Nice walk to Poang Salam waterfall.

Half-day tour by car to the beautiful Mae Suai cave.

New bungalow incl. shower in room, Thai-Baht 300.-- per day

Cat. B:

Bungalow / shower sep. outside, Thai-Baht 100.-- per day

The guesthouse is situated in a valley of a beautiful hill-area, surrounded by rice fields.
Stay in a large, friendly Karen-Hilltribe village, nearby Akha and Lahu tribes, in unspoiled mountains. Have a walk around in the nice environment, relax in our garden or just get off the beaten track.

In Wawi-Valley are six different tribes living (Karen, Lahu, Akha, Lisu, Yao and Lawa) and chinese moslems. In Wawi there is the largest chinese-tea production all over Thailand.

We have mountain-bikes for rent. We offer rustic and comfortable bungalows for reasonable prices. We organize private tours in northern Thailand to interesting points. We speak English, Thai, German, Karen and Lahu.

How to get there: By bus from Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai to Mae Suai (not Mae Sai!). In Mae Suai by yellow pick-up to Ban Thung Phrao. If you arrive by air, please call us for transport to Ban Thung Phrao.
